History
Unidata was formed in 2014. The history of the company dates back to the first half of the 2000s.
2001
A group of graduates of the Department of Mathematics and Mechanics of St. Petersburg State University developed algorithms to automate the analysis of data flows, text analytics, building taxonomies, etc.
2010
Siperian was acquired by the American company Informatica in 2010, an Informatica office was established on the basis of the R&D center, a Development Center in St. Petersburg was opened, as well as a sales office in Moscow. Software products created by Siperian as well as by Informatica MDM, have repeatedly received positive feedback from well-known analytical agencies such as Gartner and Forrester.
2011
For several years our specialists have been engaged in the realization of major projects for the implementation of MDM solutions and Data Quality management for large international companies, including Maersk Line (Denmark), SuperValu (USA), Ecolab (USA), General Electric (USA), MegaFon (Russia). As a result we came up with the idea of creating our own product platform based on the modern technological stack of free software which has been significantly updated in recent times due to the rapid growth of data volumes and methods of processing them. Moreover the accumulated experience and modern technologies led to the abandonment of the concept of a product with a limited set of functions and the subsequent transition to the concept of a product platform that supports the possibility of expanding the basic logic and the use of adaptive modules in order to ensure adaptation to the reality of the Russian market without being tied to any specific subject area.
2014
In 2014 the Development and Technical support department of the Unidata platform was allocated to a separate company LLC UniData which was accredited as a Russian software company. There is a unified roadmap for product development which is based on the current trends in the development of the industry in the field of data management (Data Governance), data quality assurance and work with normative reference information as well as new technologies and methods for processing large data sets. We follow modern approaches to the processes of product software development, its testing, performance evaluation, which have been tested and perfected in recent years.
2017
Unidata has reached a performance of one billion records. This was achieved as a part of our hard work to increase the efficiency of the platform. Now Unidata is among a few companies in the world able to work with such an array of reference data.
2018
Unidata has presented High Performance Edition This edition is designed to build data management system for large corporations and enterprises with high demands both on the data volume (from 100 million records and above) and on the operation speed.
2020
Gartner has published a rating of the world's best solutions in the field of MDM, Magic Quadrant for MDM Solutions, and included Unidata in the list of leading players in the data management market
